Latium Fleet Management Cake Walk 2009 Champions!

With the help of some friends, Latium's sponsored cake created by Gloria Bednarz and Guenter Hess of Art of Cake wins first prize! Die-Nasty cast member Tom Edwards was the creative mastermind for the runway show and philanthropist Janet Folk and our stunning Lori Pecorilli were his cast members that had the 250 attendees laughing and cheering. At the end of the night the 4th Annual Cake Walk raised approximately $50,000.00 for the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts.

This year's theme was called "All You Need Is Cake" that celebrates Beatles music. The Cake Walk is a unique runway show of stunning cakes created by local pastry chefs and had local artist, celebrities and corporate sponsors perform skits to Beatles music. "The two-tier chocolate hazelnut confection inspired by the Beatles' Backin the U.S.S.R was beautiful and delicious" says Lori Pecorilli.

Cake Walk is the major annual fundraiser supporting the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts, offering a unique blend of community art programs, public gallery space and a studio program that supports over 100 artists with developmental disabilities. All proceeds raised at this event directly support operations. This is a special year for the Centre as they celebrated the acquisition of a permanent new home on Alberta Avenue (9235 - 118th Avenue).
